Lake Sarah Progressive Party
The first annual Lake Sarah Progressive Party held on August 6, 2011 began with a quick sweep of rain one hour prior to the event followed by a perfect sun shining evening at the Slavec's home.  We were prepared to show music videos - but hey who was interested in that when there were a ton of appetizers to eat prepared by Bonnie, Ann & Joe!  The hosts served Pondweed Punch Cocktails.

The crew then motored by pontoons across to Len's “Camelot” to tour his estate filled with treasures.  Ahn and Lee dressed in traditional costume and served authentic Vietnamese cuisine.  For those who were thirsty on this very warm day, they were served the now infamous Sarah Culvert Concoction (either dry or on the rocks).  A note to the wise: It doesn't take Scott nor anyone on the weir crew to dredge up the recipe from Len!

An hour and a half later, the designated transporters maneuvered the group across the lake to Sonja's.  The partiers were greeted by a sky full of lighting and again a smashing assortment of hors d'oeuvres prepared by Sonja. Of course we all moved inside instantly (while the boats were parked), and were welcomed by the food and the musical talent of Kirk and his band.  The band was simply awesome and entertained until the wee hours of the morning.  Sonja served up a concoction named Sarah Tornado Twister.

Cruise guests commented that "they got their money's worth",  Mary thanked the hosts for opening up their homes and LSIA President Joe and his wife Sarah said they "really fun time last night – mainly for being able to socially meet more of our neighbors around the lake." It was a great success.
The Progressive Party was planned for the Lake community to celebrate the efforts of all of those who have over the years and are working hard to improve Lake Sarah's water quality. The event was not sponsored by LSIA. Article and photos submitted by Ann Slavec 11/22/2011. link to event flyer.
