Contest rules are:
- One entry per person (yes each [human] family member may have their own guess).
- Eligible households must be in the immediate lake Sarah area (Loretto, Independence, Greenfield, Rockford, Delano, Maple Plain).
- Entries must be received by midnight Saturday March 9, 2008.
- Prize to be awarded for 2008 will be a $75 gift certificate to Axel's in Loretto. (prize donated by the Spencer family and Kelly Kippels of Axel's Tavern).
- LSIA membership is not required (but LSIA would appreciate your support).
- The 2008 Official Ice Out date is defined as the day lake Sarah is judged completely free of ice by a concensus of opinions by Mike Peterson, Tim Wuollet, & Brad Spencer.
- Any ties will be decided by a drawing of correct entries.
- Email your name, phone number, and guess to Brad Spencer at this website. (entries accepted 2/1/08 through midnight 3/09/08)
- Entries will be posted to this page as soon as administratively possible (see list at the below), entrants are encouraged to check for already chosen dates and if desired to select dates that have not yet been chosen.

HISTORIC ICE OUT DATES FOR LAKE SARAH (27-0191)
These ice out dates were compiled from years of observations by lake Sarah residents Tim Wuollet and Kathy Hahn. Tim and Kathy recorded the same dates in almost all of the years but in four years (marked by asterisk *) the reported dates were averaged. The definition of "Ice Out" applied here is the date upon which the lake is completely free of ice. Thanks to Kathy and Tim for providing their data for use here!
