ICE OVER / ICE OUT HISTORY

HISTORIC ICE OVER DATES

"Ice over" is defined by MPCA Citizen Lake Monitoring Program standards as the date that the ice completely covers the surface of the water and that it remains iced over for at least 24 hours. The dates below were provided by Sandy & Gregg Friehe ('00-'05) (East bay) and Al & Sally Moen ('89-'05)  (West bay). Anyone with additional records for missing years is invited to email this site. In years where different dates were recorded, the date was averaged and noted by an (*) Thanks to the Friehe's and Moen's for their help!

HISTORIC ICE OUT DATES

"Ice Out" is defined as the first day the lake is completely free of ice. The data below was compiled from the records of longtime lake residents Tim Wuollet and Kathy Hahn, in four years (marked by asterisk *) the reported dates were averaged.. Person with additional records are invited to email this website. Thank you to Kathy and Tim for sharing their records.
