Metropolitan Mosquito Control District - The MMCD provides a variety of services to 2.7 million people living in an area covering 2,800 square miles in the seven county Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota metropolitan area. Counties included in the District are Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington. This public education website offers information, contacts and links to resources for the public to learn about health issues and control techniques for mosquitoes, ticks and other biting insects. The MMCD is funded by property taxes. In 2007, District programs are expected to cost the owner of a typical $250,000 home an average of $13.10 per year.

dtv2009.org - On 2/17/09 the FCC is requiring full power TV stations to cease broadcasting in analog and begin transmitting in digital format.
